What the dated in-app restriction says

BSP Memorandum M-2025-029, dated 14 August 2025, instructed supervised institutions to remove links providing in-app gambling access. It describes redirection to gambling sites. The document is evidence of that dated instruction, not a complete current list of permitted transactions. [1]

GCash’s current missing-money help article states that gaming platforms cannot be accessed through its app from 16 August 2025. The same article separately explains how to ask a gaming platform to trace a missing cash-in. Those are different questions: access through an app and the status of a particular payment. [2]

Name the direction of the money

Different balances and records require different checks
ActionWhat changesWhat to verify
Cash in to a walletThe wallet’s balance.Sending source, recipient, wallet limits and completion status.
Deposit to a casinoThe casino’s account balance. The operator’s currently accepted channel, reference and crediting rules.
Request a casino withdrawalA request for the operator to release an eligible balance.Account verification, receiving method, limits and promotion restrictions.
Receive the withdrawalThe receiving wallet or bank balance. The transfer reference and actual receipt, not only operator approval.

Wallet verification and casino verification should be checked separately. Do not infer that satisfying one process satisfies every ownership, eligibility or payment rule in the other.

“Gaming” rewards may exclude online gambling

Maya’s 2026 Gaming Cashback terms refer to eligible video-game spending and expressly exclude merchants classified as online gambling. That is a useful example of why a promotion’s title is not enough to establish eligibility. It is not a casino bonus being offered by PaldoKaDito. [3]

Read the merchant category, eligible transaction type, cap and exclusions in the actual terms. A reward condition cannot be used as proof that a payment channel supports a particular casino today.

Questions to resolve before relying on a wallet route

  • Does the wallet’s current policy permit this transaction type?
  • Does the verified operator list this wallet for the direction you need: deposit, withdrawal, or both?
  • Must the wallet name match the casino account, and are both required checks complete?
  • Which tier, balance, transaction or daily limits apply?
  • Which party charges a fee, and where can you see it before confirming?
  • If funds have already been sent, which party has the reference needed to trace them?

For a missing gaming-related cash-in, GCash’s help article directs the user to confirm the transaction with the gaming platform and request a trace where appropriate. Follow the current official flow for the actual case; do not assume a generic waiting time applies to every transfer. [2]

Frequently asked questions

Does the 2025 BSP document list every permitted payment today?

No. It records an instruction about in-app gambling links, not a complete current acceptance list. [1]

Does verified wallet status complete casino KYC?

Do not assume so. Check each service’s identity, ownership and account requirements separately.

Does Maya’s Gaming Cashback include online gambling?

The cited 2026 programme excludes online-gambling merchants. That exclusion is specific to those terms. [3]

Where do I start with a missing gaming-related GCash cash-in?

Follow the current GCash help flow; it directs relevant cases to the gaming platform for confirmation and tracing. [2]

Sources and research scope

BSP and wallet-provider documents were read on 22 October 2026. No wallet-to-casino route was tested. A historical directive or help article is not a current acceptance list.
