You see a Player hand of 9 and 6. Its baccarat score is 5, not 15. Start with that scoring rule, then check the table’s payout conditions. The words “Player” and “Banker” name the two hands; they do not identify who owns your account.

## How do you calculate a baccarat total?

In the documented scoring system, an ace counts as 1, cards 2–9 keep their number, and tens and picture cards count as 0. Only the final digit of the sum is retained. ## What are you betting on?

The main labels describe a prediction about the Player hand, the Banker hand or an equal final score. Card-drawing rules determine when a further card is dealt. This is different from choosing “hit” or “stand” in blackjack.

Read the exact third-card and settlement rules for the variant. A history board records previous rounds; it is not a guarantee about the next hand. The fact that one side won repeatedly does not establish that the other side is owed a win.

## Which payout conditions can change?

**Check these in the actual table rules**

| Side bets | Which exact card or total condition qualifies? | A main-hand result does not settle every optional bet. |
| Variant changes | Are any cards predetermined or extra fees charged? | A familiar table layout may use a different game model. |

Do not assume so. Find any special reduced payout, extra condition or fee in the exact table rules.

### Does a Banker streak guarantee another Banker result?
